Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz y Tarifa
Saturday, 9 a.m. in Malaga:
On our way, with Rebeccas family to spend a day in Cádiz.
The atlantic coast was waiting for us, of course we were prepaired with lunch packages for the long run. After three hours we had some doubts if we are going the right way. Marianne and me became a bit suspicious about the destination. As we listened to the others discussing about something we realized the first destination wouldnt be Cádiz: Rebeccas family wanted to surprise us with a visit of the “Royal Andalucian School of Equestrian Art” in Jerez de la Frontera. We were so excited and happy about that but as soon as we arrived we saw that the school is only opened on mondays and fridays, so we werent able to get it. What a pity!
The more we were excited for our next destination: Cádiz! Before we arrived in the city we passed an impressive bridge that leads you directly into the city centre of Cádiz. At the harbour we had an amazing view over the city. In the centre we looked for a parking place and just walked up to the cathedral of Cádiz. We didnt want to miss that and took some audioguides to lead us through this big church.
After that we had a fast snack in a Café with a piece of cake and a cup of coffee. To be sure that we dont starve on our way back – we bought ca. one kilo of different sorts of cookies and biscuits in a small backery! J
On our way to Tarifa we had to stop at the amazing beach of Cádiz – bright sand, atlantic ocean, a nice breathe! A short time to enjoy this lovely place and to continue our way to Tarifa.
As we arrived , the sun was going down, but we were able to take a sneak of Africa until the sun was finally gone.
After Tarifa we made our way back home to Malaga, after such long trips we are always happy to come back home.
But all in all it was a beautiful day with a lot of impressions and experiences!
